Head to These 6 Best Arrowtown Cafes for Delicious Brews and Bites
On my first trip to the pretty small town of Arrowtown, I was left disappointed by the coffee scene.
The hotel I stayed at served a brew so watery it could have been mistaken for light tea. I could even see the bottom of my cup through the murky liquid.
And don’t even get me started on their muffins—they were dry and as hard as rocks.
Luckily, I’ve since discovered the best spots in town. After indulging in plenty of espressos and cakes, I now know exactly where to go.
Here are my go-to Arrowtown cafes that deliver great flavor, a cozy ambiance, and that much-needed caffeine fix.

I keep coming back to Provisions of Arrowtown for their beautiful garden and the historic miners’ cottage—it’s the perfect backdrop for photos.
But the food is what really stands out. Their menu changes with the seasons, but they always offer healthy breakfast favorites like coconut waffles and smoothie bowls.
If you’re lucky enough to visit when it’s available, definitely try the Gruyere & Brioche French Toast. The brioche is custardy and rich, while the Gruyère adds a decadent touch.
And the coffee? It’s consistently smooth and delicious.
Pro Tip:
Grab a garden table early in the morning for an unforgettable experience surrounded by colorful leaves.

Hole In One Cafe is located in the original farm stables, offering an amazing view of the Millbrook Resort’s golf course. In fact, this is what makes it one of my favorite spots.
I love the relaxed atmosphere—perfect for a casual brunch or a coffee break. It’s always welcoming, never stuffy.
Their freshly baked goods are incredible, and the coffee is superb. They use high-quality beans and really know how to make a great latte or cappuccino. Of course, they also offer a nice selection of teas and other beverages.
Pro Tip:
If you’re here for dinner, try one of their delicious pizzas with wine. I recommend the Smokehouse pizza—the tender beef brisket, pork belly, and cheddar make it savory and satisfying.

Wolf Coffee Roasters serves phenomenal coffee—some of the richest, most flavorful brews I’ve ever had. It’s not just the rotating blend of Colombian, Brazilian, and Ethiopian beans but also the expert roasting that sets them apart.
The Colombian variety brings a bright acidity, the Brazilian offers a nutty richness, and the Ethiopian contributes floral and fruity notes. Together, they create a complex and deeply satisfying flavor profile.
The pastries are also tasty. I’m a big fan of their fudgy brownies and decadent bagels, both of which perfectly complement the coffee.
Pro Tip:
If you’re short on time, try their drip coffee bags. They’re just as delicious as their in-house brews and perfect for grabbing on the go.

If you’re looking for a great spot to grab a quick bite and top-notch coffee, this little cafe truck in the park is the place to go.
They roast their beans in-house, ensuring the freshest and most flavorful cup. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you want to savor every sip.
It’s not just about the coffee. They also offer a delicious selection of pastries and sandwiches, perfect for a quick and satisfying treat.

Kahwah Café may be a lesser-known spot, but don’t let that fool you—it’s a hidden gem for an amazing breakfast.
Their Shakshuka is a delicious dish of poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce for a morning pick-me-up. They also offer refreshing acai bowls for a healthy option.
And if you’re looking for a more savory option, their lamb merguez sausage is fantastic. Bursting with flavor and aroma, it’s sure to have you coming back for more.
I also love their aromatic coffee, cold-pressed juices, and delicious baked sweet treats.

Located in what was once the owner’s childhood bedroom, Crib instantly gives off that cool, hipster vibe.
But it’s not just the atmosphere—I keep coming back for their incredible espresso and delicious pies. They get a majority of their coffee beans from Black Lab, so their espresso is always high quality. Meanwhile, the pies have amazing flaky crusts that just melt in your mouth.
But more than just great food and drink, Crib has an infectious energy—the music always sets the perfect mood, even when there’s a queue.
Pro Tip:
Pair your espresso with their freshly baked chocolate chip cookie—it’s the perfect match for a satisfying treat.
