After chatting with locals and lowkey inspecting clinics in person, we’ve narrowed our list of top cosmetic dentists in Tauranga down to only the best options.
We’re sure these pros won’t make your teeth look “overdone” – they’ll just bring you over the moon with amazing results.

How much does it cost to see a cosmetic dentist in Tauranga?
1. Tauranga Crossing Dental

Located inside the Tauranga Crossing Shopping Centre, the clinic wins in accessibility. This means plenty of parking available too, so it’s a solid choice for busy patients.
We liked how diverse their cosmetic offerings are, ensuring patients secure a one-stop clinic for all their needs. They offer porcelain veneers, ceramic inlays/onlays, and even full-mouth rehabilitation for long-term transformations.
In terms of the overall experience, the clinic also earned our favour for its patient-centric scheduling and flexible emergency care. It’s also easy to reschedule with them, which is surprisingly difficult to do with other clinics we’ve tried.
The only area of concern we have is that their reception feels a little less than welcoming. Fortunately, the dentists and dental hygienists are all very personable, with a friendly and warm attitude all throughout.
Knowledgeable and helpful
“Great experience, the staff at Tauranga crossing dental are awesome, including the reception staff, Brooke the hygienist and Maria the dentist that I saw. Not to forget the other staff who support. Everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful, appointments are timely. All of my experiences have been good here and the dental care has been top notch.”

Makes patients comfortable
“Have hated going to the dentist all my life, traumatic experience of a child being called to the dental nurse at school, Now I have no problems, the staff and Maria always make me feel comfortable and the treatment is most professional and world class. Highly recommend the team at Tauranga crossing Dental.”

2. Tauranga Dental House

The moment we walked into Tauranga Dental House, we immediately felt welcomed. It’s housed in a restored 1910 villa, modernised with artwork in the walls that makes the space less clinical and more personal.
As for services, they have everything you can expect from cosmetic dentists. But we find it noteworthy that they have an on-site dental technician, enabling custom-fitted dentures made from either ceramic or composite.
Our team found that the attention to detail extended to more niche solutions as well, including snore guards. Plus, the outcomes are pretty solid, with patients sharing how natural-looking their procedures are.
However, not every experience is uniformly positive – we did encounter a report where a client felt that their concerns were dismissed. On the good side, this appears to be an isolated incident and the rest remains satisfactory.
Fair treatment and price
“Excellent dentists. Anyone who cares about their teeth and is looking to retain as much tooth as possible should pay a visit to TBK. I just saw Roger Burley, his personal statement reflects how I want my teeth to be treated and I’m very glad I did. Knowledgable, caring and very fair treatment and price. Cant recommend them highly enough.”

Kind, patient, careful
“Kane was recommended to me, due to my fears of dental treatment. He did major work to fix my smile, which has restored my confidence. He is kind, patient, careful and honestly the best dentist I’ve ever had. Added bonus is he has a great sense of humour! Thanks to Kane and the girls for their care”

3. The Dentists – Tauranga

The Dentists offers a wide range of cosmetic dental work, from teeth whitening to complete dental makeovers.
But what we found most valuable is they serve patients of all age groups. This is very advantageous for patients who want to stick to a single doctor as they age.
Another major feature here is their free in-depth diagnostic consultation. Patients receive a comprehensive, face-to-face review of their results using 3D imagery. This allows dentists to give them better recommendations and realistic expectations.
Our team also appreciated their flexible payment options, including a 12-month deferred payment option via Q-Card. Staff are also trained to assist with approvals, which makes the process faster and more convenient.
Unfortunately, a few of our team members noted that their front desk staff can feel a bit dismissive. Little improvements here can really elevate the experience, especially for clients making on-site appointments.
Relaxed and welcoming environment
“Amazing team who got my daughter in to have 2 teeth extracted. She is a bit of an introvert but even when she was late due to a mix up and she was anxious about the appointment the staff made her feel relaxed and welcome. She said they were all so nice from office manager, to the dental assistant and dentist that she looks forward to going back again.. not something someone says about going to the dentist. Well done team.”

Calm, professional, and patient
“Dr. Graeme and the team at The Dentists Tauranga provided an outstanding experience. He took the time to explain every step clearly, which put me at ease throughout my visit. Dr. Graeme was calm, professional, and patient, ensuring everything was done efficiently. His expertise and genuine care truly made a difference. I highly recommend Dr. Graeme and his team.”

4. ER Dental at Seventh

When we first looked into ER Dental, we were impressed by their broad range of cosmetic services. We found them a go-to for patients looking for complete solutions.
However, it’s their efficiency that made us love them even more. They use in-house 3D tech, so they can provide crowns and veneers on the same day.
The entire process is highly rated too, basing off of the client’s testimonials to us. Patients we spoke to loved how quick and painless the procedures were, which is beneficial for anxious patients.
To wrap things up, we liked that their payment options are convenient. They have channels like Afterpay, Q-Card, WINZ, and Southern Cross.
Their rates fall within the city’s average too, keeping them accessible for all.
There are, however, a few reports of unsatisfactory results. We recommend asking questions and managing expectations when consulting with them.
Explained everything
“I went to see Candice the hygienist for the first time today. She explained everything clearly, was very reassuring and careful with me after I explained I was apprehensive due to a terrible experience with a hygienist years earlier. She checked in with me regularly and I really appreciated her empathy and care. I was happy to make another appointment to see her again.”

Professional experience
“Was expecting a lot of pain and discomfort but my experience was completely opposite. Very friendly people and professional. Was vertically pain free and a great job was done. My tooth looks brand new and got some great advice for the future. Thanks team great work.”

5. Baywide Smiles Dental

Having 15 years of experience, Baywide has a local following for both preventive and cosmetic treatments.
While they don’t have a range of procedures that’s as extensive as others (key offerings focus on minor work like teeth whitening, veneers, and fixing chips), they do make up for it with a great attitude and unbeatable rates.
Prices are competitive too, with consultations starting at $85 only. Combined with ACC consultations and WINZ quotes, they’re an accessible choice for most clients.
Even teens (13 to 18 years old), receive free general dental care, as funded by the District Health Board (DHB).
According to most clients, the entire experience is personal and respectful too. During consultations, most patients agreed that the approach was relaxed and not rushed, giving them plenty of room to ask questions.
The results are just slightly inconsistent, with minor reports here and there of unsatisfactory results. While this may be isolated cases, it still highlights the need for consistent quality control.
Kind and helpful
“I received my treatment from Paul and the assistant who were both really kind and helpful during the whole time. He didn’t charged me overprice but rather reasonable and affordable price. Even though my appointment was booked at 6:30 (quite late as it is towards closing time) but they were willing to stay later and did their best for treatment.”
