1. Wellington Dentists Ltd

Looking into Wellington Dentists, we were pleased to find out that they offer quality services at fair rates. Using real-case results, we saw how natural-looking their composite veneers were at only $750 per tooth.

Additionally, previous clients loved how discreet the design was for their teeth straightening option. While they don’t currently offer porcelain veneers or braces, they do provide porcelain onlays, crowns, and composite bridges.

The best thing about all of these is the prices, particularly with their student discounts. Check-ups only cost $40 with X-rays, and they can even enjoy up to $1,000 in free dental care per year.

The follow-ups just feel a little too rocky for what we want, with clients experiencing extremely long wait times. This is the case for more complex cases, though, so small cosmetic procedures may feel a lot more seamless.

Supreme Dental Concepts won us over with unique offerings. In particular, they specialise in restorative care, where they deal with damage from an accident or general wear and tear. 

We also appreciate their transparent policies. For instance, their first professional dental exam comes with a money-back guarantee – something we find useful for first-timers who are still unsure about which clinic to go for.

They also have a five-year limited warranty on crowns and bridges, which is a great reassurance for those going through major dental work.

Their in-office dental plans, flexible financing options, and coverage plans are also major wins. All these make their services more accessible to all. Plus, they offer free consultations (valued at $150 each) for services like Invisalign and Fastbraces.

Downside? We had so much trouble following up with them after the initial consultation – one of our team members wasn’t even able to confirm an appointment. Improvements here would’ve been a major win.

At City Dentists, what earned our favour the most is their process. For cosmetic solutions, the approach is highly personalised. Treatment plans include detailed mock-ups, wax-ups, and consultations.

They also scored high on accessibility. For starters, their centrally located clinic is close to the Wellington train station as well as bus hubs.

Additionally, the costs are competitive and come with discounts. Students receive a 10% discount on actual treatments, and most can qualify for up to $1,000 of free dental care per year. 

It’s also worth noting that staff avoids hard-selling tactics, which we appreciate. And with a clear explanation of times and outcomes, we feel that clients truly get their money’s worth.

The biggest downside, though, is that their billing practice is a bit confusing. While the rates are okay, there are inconsistencies about the pricing once billed. Fortunately, they’re proactive when dealing with these issues.

4. The Wellington Dental Practice

The Wellington Dental Practice immediately got our attention with its 90 years of experience. We definitely appreciate their wide range of offerings, including dental veneers, Invisalign, and teeth whitening.

The patient experience here is unlike any other we’ve experienced. The clinic is very calming with generally little noise, and the procedure rooms themselves have overhead TVs for entertainment.

In line with the experience, we also had a seamless time trying their online booking system. Clients even get SMS and email reminders – little touches that we find important, to help patients avoid missing an appointment. 

While they may not be the cheapest option in this list, they do offer easy payment options and support for Southern Cross Health insurance members.

5. Smile Design Dental Group

Speaking to patients, it’s clear that the process at Smile Design is highly valued. The team takes time to explain all available treatment options, giving patients insights into what’s possible for their case.

We also liked that they provided patients with before-and-after photos to help them visualise their potential outcomes.

There are a wide range of cosmetic procedures here, including teeth whitening and veneers. But what sets them apart is that they also offer restorative treatments like dental implants. This provides patients with the option of doing a full smile makeover,

Patient care is also solid, with their gentle approach and sedation techniques. Our team also finds their staff very personable, easily making clients feel at ease.

We just want to note that their services aren’t the most affordable in the city. There are certain services here, like veneers, that cost more than in other clinics.

But if you want that exclusive attention and top-notch care, the price is worth paying for.
