There were tons of choices I could pick from, and my team helped me pick the best deck cleaning services. Besides our personal criteria, we also considered customer feedback.

1. Pro Waterblasting Wellington

Pro Wasterblasting doesn’t use the typical high-pressure washing that can be too harsh on wooden decks. Instead, they use a soft washing technique. It’s a gentler method that still gets rid of all the dirt without damaging the wood or stripping out the natural oils.

We love how they know how to handle different surfaces safely since not every homeowner has the same deck. They work with all kinds of decks, including pine, hardwood, and even composite.

We also find it useful that they offer annual maintenance plans to keep your deck looking good and prevent future damage from buildup. It’s a smart idea and probably saves money in the long run.

Most of the customers we’ve talked to were also happy with the service. Many mentioned they were satisfied with the cleaning process.

2. Chemwash Exterior Cleaning

One thing we liked about Chemwash is how gentle but strong their cleaning method is. They use a low-pressure soft wash with special detergents that clean well but don’t harm the timber. It helps keep the deck looking good and lasting longer. 

We also liked that their team really has the expertise to protect and restore the wood for their process. 

From what we’ve heard, their special detergents are environmentally friendly and biodegradable. It’s good news if you’re considering them and you have pets and plants.

They also don’t just clean the deck floor. They also clean handrails, benches, and even outdoor furniture. It’s just nice to know you can have everything done in one go with them rather than hiring different people for each part.

That said, some customers mentioned that operators sometimes arrive without a clear idea of what needs to be done. The homeowner has to explain the job right there on the spot.

For us, it feels like they can do better with briefing and training their teams so everyone knows exactly what to do before they get there.

3. Clear Water Blasting Services Limited

What makes Clear Water Blasting unique is its dual approach. They use both chemical and non-chemical, depending on the deck’s material and condition. That flexibility matters more than people might think. 

Some companies go too hard with pressure washing, which might make your deck look clean short term, but can strip the wood. Clear Water Blasting takes a more careful and thoughtful approach.

They’ve been doing this since 2003, so they’ve got plenty of experience. It’s not just with decks, but also with other parts of the house too. They’ve cleaned gutters, walls, and retaining walls—they can do a full exterior clean if needed.

A customer also mentioned to us that after contacting James, the man leading the company, he got back to them quickly with a reasonable price. 

Even though he was busy, he worked around the customer’s schedule and sent before-and-after photos of the job, which is helpful if you’re not able to be there in person. That reliability really stood out to us.

That said, their prices are just a bit higher than some of the companies we’ve looked into. They might not be the perfect fit if you’re on a budget.

4. Absolute House Wash

Absolute House Wash uses soft washing. It’s gentler on timber or composite decks but still gives a really deep clean. For anyone with an older deck or one that’s starting to grow mould or algae, this approach might be more suitable.

A lot of their customer also rave about Wade, who was the guy behind the business. From what we’ve heard, he’s super quick to respond, gives fair quotes, and sticks to his word when it comes to scheduling.

One customer we talked to said he even worked around other trades at their house and sent before-and-after photos while they were out of town. We liked how hands-on he is.

While they do deck cleaning, they also provide other services such as house washing and gutter cleaning. They’re a great choice if you want to tackle all of those at once.

That said, if you’re comparing your options, it might take a while to know their costs since they’ll need to quote it first. But at least, they offer it for free.

5. Pristinewash

Pristinewash’s pre-cleaning preparation is impressive. Before even touching the deck, they clear the space, check for damage, and plan the timing based on the weather. That’s a detail some companies skip, but it makes a difference. 

If you’ve ever had your deck cleaned right before rain, you’ll understand how frustrating it can be when the results don’t last. We think this shows they’re thinking beyond the job at hand.

We also like their approach to cleaning. Rather than defaulting to high-pressure washing, they adjust their methods based on the deck material. They usually use soft washing for more delicate surfaces and pressure washing if it’s appropriate.

We were also surprised that they still do some manual scrubbing. It’s definitely more effort, but from what we saw and heard, it works better for deep-down grime.

They also do a final rinse with low pressure, which helps make sure there’s no residue left behind. 

Some customers even mentioned they walked them through the job afterwards to make sure their customers were happy. 

That said, their prices are slightly higher than those of the others we’ve looked into. But considering their quality of service and customer feedback, we’re pretty sure they’re worth it.
