1. Smile Design

Smile Design offers a full suite of implant solutions, from single-tooth replacements to full-mouth reconstructions. We liked that every procedure is personalised, proven by clients who consistently describe the process as gentle and precise.

What truly earned our favour, though, is their ability to deliver natural-looking results. Clients also shared how seamless the entire experience is, from how fast and convenient the booking was, to how accommodating the staff were.

However, the clinic has limited availability. Clients can only secure spots if they do it weeks in advance. 

When we tried calling, the process felt faster – something you may want to try if you need a slot fast.

Costs are competitive, and we’re happy to know that they break down the inclusions for each client. Rates are standard and fall within the city’s average, with no hidden or surprise charges, according to clients.

One of the most noteworthy things about this clinic is how approachable the staff are. We saw how they were able to make anxious clients feel more comfortable, which we find helpful for first-time patients.

They also have a wide range of dental services apart from implants, including extractions, crowns, and whitening services. This makes them a solid one-stop clinic for long-term dental health at all life stages.

Pricing is another strength. A full check-up with X-rays and a treatment plan starts at $120. What’s even better is that they accept various payment options, including Afterpay, Q-Card, and Gem Visa. They even accept WINZ quotes.

While their rates are generally competitive, we did encounter a few discrepancies between the quoted and final prices. Fortunately, they appear to be more proactive when dealing with these issues, which still reassures us.

As part of the Lumino Network, Henderson Periodontics & Implants earned our attention for trusted service backed by years of experience. But beyond this, it’s their patient-first approach that really earned our trust.

The clinic offers zero-obligation consultations, as well as detailed cost breakdowns. In line with this, they also offer 18-month interest-free financing via Q-Card, which makes it more accessible for most patients.

As an ACC- and WINZ-registered provider, they’re also a top choice for those needing urgent or subsidised care.

While they’re accessible in terms of financing, it may be a turn-off that they fall short on appointment availability and follow-ups. We encountered clients who had to wait many weeks before even getting a response to inquiries.

On the good side, the quality of service is among the best we’ve encountered – patients reported minimal pain and reduced inflammation with their procedures. Plus, dental implants come with a lifetime warranty from their suppliers.

Remarkable improvements 

“Since my city lacks periodontists, I traveled to Christchurch specifically to receive periodontal treatment from this clinic. Dr. Richard’s gentle, patient, and professional manner truly impressed me. I underwent root cleaning, expecting considerable pain, but with anesthesia, I felt no discomfort at all—not even the typical pain from a regular cleaning. Now, three weeks post-treatment, my gums have shown remarkable improvement: no more bleeding while brushing and no frequent gum inflammation or swelling. While gum bone loss is irreversible, timely periodontal treatment is crucial for maintaining gum and dental health. Pathway Dental has all the key qualities we’re looking for: gentle, professional, and empathetic. Beyond these personable qualities, their modern diagnostic tools also won our favour for delivering accurate treatment plans.

The entire experience is very seamless, according to clients. The consultation was in-depth, covering rates and results expectations. They also noted that the procedure was pain-free, and the professionals were able to keep them calm.

Considering how expensive implants can be, we appreciate how flexible their payment options are. Financing can be accessed via Q-MasterCard (12 months, no interest), as well as Afterpay and Zip (4 to 6 weeks, no interest).

We just wished their post-operative support was a little more solid. A few patients revealed to us that they felt dismissed after the entire procedure. Better consistency would elevate the overall experience here.

5. Christchurch Boutique Dental

What impressed us the most was how advanced the dental implant procedure at Christchurch Boutique Dental was. In particular, they use 3D simulation technology to map nerve locations and assess bone conditions.

The reason we liked this is because it leaves smaller and fewer incisions. This means less pain, faster recovery, and fewer follow-up visits. For clients, this translates to big savings in time and money.

The clinic itself feels more like a boutique, which instantly helps clients feel more welcomed and less anxious. 

Unfortunately, the customer service failed to match it. We felt that their staff lacked warmth in customer interaction.

On the good side, services are competitively priced and made even more accessible through Afterpay, Farmers Finance Cards, and WINZ quotes. They’re also ACC-registered, making them ideal for injury-related treatments.
