One of our team members learned that the hard way. She tried a DIY kit before a big event and ended up spending the evening picking off sticky, lopsided lashes in the bathroom.

A few weeks later (and many interviews and appointments), we’ve compiled a list of the top lash extensions in Wellington, where the results are actually stunning lashes and not red, irritated eyes.

Hi Lash Lounge feels like a real escape in the middle of the city. Many people told us the private, appointment-only setup makes it feel special and relaxing, and we totally agree. 

We really love how natural and elegant their classic lashes look. There’s a subtle winged effect at the outer corners that adds just the right touch of lift to your eye makeup.

Their Max Hybrid set is our pick for everyday wear. It’s the most popular option, and we can see why—it brightens your eyes without screaming, “I have extensions.” It gives you that Kardashian-Jenner-style soft and wearable lash look. 

On the other hand, their glamour set is thicker and more dramatic, with 100 extensions per eye. One bride who got this set told us it lasted through all the happy tears and photos without budging.

Now, while we love that their Medium and Maximum Volume Sets give you that “wow” factor, we don’t like how you’ll be sitting in that chair lifting your head up for 3+ hours. Talk about bad neck pain

Catherine of the Face Innovations really stood out to us with her 13 years of experience. We like that she takes time to understand exactly what clients want. She asks about your lifestyle, makeup routine, and the look you’re going for to deliver an extension that really suits you.

Her expertise really shines through in the natural sets she makes. Customers told us Catherine made it look like they naturally have long lashes and were just wearing mascara.

We also love her semi-permanent extensions. They hold up beautifully from morning until night without any maintenance. They eliminate the need for mascara and curling, so we find them really convenient.

But what impressed us the most was the quality of the application. We like that there’s no clumping or uncomfortable weight on the lashes.

If there’s one thing we don’t love, it’s that the salon books up fast, especially for evening appointments.

3. Envyour Beauty

We like that Envyour Beauty offers patch tests before you get lashes done. It’s a thoughtful touch, especially for those who have sensitive eyes or are new to lash extensions.

As for the lashes themselves, we love that you get that “I woke up like this” look when you’re wearing their classic lashes. They’re also lightweight and comfortable, so many clients we talked to said they sometimes forget they’re wearing them.

That said, it’s their Kim K Spiked Style Lashes that really won our hearts. They’re trendy, edgy, textured look—no wonder they’re all over Instagram. Customers told us they get compliments every time they wear this style. 

We also like how the salon makes it so convenient to maintain your lashes. They offer flexible infill options—every 8-14 days or 14-21 days. Plus, the infill appointments aren’t too long, just around 30 minutes. 

The one thing we aren’t too crazy about is their hybrid lash application. A few people told us they came out a bit clunky.

4. Fabulash Brows New Zealand

One of the things we really love at Fabulous Brows is how long the lashes last. They usually last a solid 3-4 weeks before you need a refill, which saves much time and hassle. 

Customers mentioned they made it through a whole month before needing a touch-up, which really sold us on the durability.

We also love the Fabulash Classic set here. They’re long and wispy without looking fake, making them perfect for those who want a natural-but-better look.

If you want more drama, we’d recommend their Fabulash Volume 2D-4D style. They make your eyes pop in photos and give you that doll-like effect.

But if we have to choose a favorite out of all the eyelash extensions they do, it’s the party and colour lashes. We like how they’re bright, playful, and still feel just as light as the regular sets. They’re pretty unique and not something you see in every salon.

If there’s one thing we wish were different, it’s the booking process online. You need to put down a deposit and wait for confirmation, which can be irritating if you’re in a rush.

Brazilian Secrets Beauty has a fantastic range of options, but what really stood out to us was the level of customisation. We love that their team really listens to what you want and makes sure you leave with the exact lash style you desire. 

They show you all the different types of lashes they have on offer, and they don’t rush you to pick one. The staff is patient, and you can really see that they genuinely want you to feel confident in your choice.

When it comes to their lashes, we love their Mega Volume Lashes. They’re the type to gain attention everywhere you go. 

We also appreciate how careful the lash techs are when applying these lashes. They make sure not to strain the eyelid in any way from all the heaviness of the lashes. 

When we talked to other customers, they raved about the Russian Volume 2D-4D. We can totally see the appeal since the lashes really do give you that extra oomph needed for special events.

The one thing we don’t like is that, because they also offer other services (massages, waxing, etc.), their lash technicians are sometimes pretty spread out.
