The cost of lawn care services per hour in Auckland ranges from $25 to $35 for small lawns (up to 100 sqm), $35 to $50 for medium-sized lawns (about 100 – 250 sqm), and $45+ for large lawns (250+ sqm)​. 1. Essential Lawn & Garden Keeper

Essential Lawn & Garden Keeper is best known for its prompt service and ability to come to clients’ homes even on short notice. On top of that, they complete the job exactly when they say they will, preventing any frustrating delays. 

Their lawn care covers a wide range of services, making it a convenient choice for overall garden care. From regular lawn mowing and weeding to more specialised tasks like hedge trimming and soft landscaping, they cover all the bases. 

It’s also worth noting that their prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of service provided. When they gave us a quote, the breakdown was transparent, ensuring there were no hidden costs.

On the rough side, a few of their customers mentioned instances where they experienced miscommunications about appointment times. However, we noticed everyone who said this to us also booked the company in the spring.

That matters because spring is usually the peak time for lawn care services, so we can at least guess that the issues might have been influenced by that. Their offices may have been more hectic than usual.

When it comes to top-notch results, we have to give it to Garden Solutions Landscape. The quality of their work really transforms outdoor spaces. For instance, we saw a lot of photos of their past jobs showing them turning overgrown messes into neatly manicured gardens.

Apart from this, their clean-up process is also known for being meticulous, leaving lawns spotless. They can even handle last-minute full garden cleanup requests, which shows how responsive and flexible the team can be in accommodating schedules.

Pricing for their services also falls within reasonable ranges. Honestly, we initially thought their quotes were on the higher side, but the final results their clients showed us changed our minds. Their work is worth the investment – though that probably depends on your budget.

Aside from pricing, the only real complaint we could come up with was from one client being dissatisfied with the quality of materials used. In his case, he said it led to issues like a weed mat ripping off within a few weeks. Not great, but still an exception in their record.

Amarraj Lawn Mowing amazed us with the range of services they offer. Their offerings include regular mowing, plant watering, and weed removal –  all services aimed at maintaining vibrant and healthy outdoor spaces.

Their reasonable pricing didn’t compromise the quality of service either, making them an excellent choice for budget-conscious homeowners. 

However, their track record shows us that they do small lawns best. That’s why we see them as more fitting for partial, minor, or short-term lawn improvements rather than big-scale and lengthy improvements. 

However, a few clients mentioned experiencing inconsistencies in service, particularly with timeframe delays regarding job completion. These cases, though, don’t occur frequently, which convinced us that these are isolated cases. 

Moreover, many of their former clients that we talked to praised the staff’s friendly and professional demeanour. 

Overall, their combination of affordability, expertise in small lawn projects, and positive customer interactions make them a solid option for homeowners seeking reliable and cost-effective lawn care services.

What caught our attention in Crewcut Lawn Mowing is how long they’ve been in the game. For over 30 years, they have had a reputation for having well-trained and reliable workers, as proven by their SiteSafe membership.

This membership provides ample training to members, which gives us the peace of mind that their staff always have up-to-date skills. Of course, we only trust lawn care services where the professionals have consistent upskilling opportunities to deliver top-notch results.

They offer a good range of services for minor garden renovations. This includes lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and garden tidies. 

The quality of work is commendable. After each visit, we saw how lawns look impeccable, with neatly trimmed edges and tidy gardens. And since they have water blasting services to clean paths, their clean-out process is pretty much as spotless as it can be. 

However, we did encounter some negative feedback regarding their communication system. For instance, there are times when they can’t be reached via email or their website and times when takes minutes before they pick up the phone.

What we found interesting, though, is how they recycle the cut grass after mowing. They use a mulching mower, which turns the grass trimmings into mulch, which is then used as fertiliser for their clients’ lawns or gardens.

This mulching process is considered eco-friendly, as it doesn’t include chemicals and only uses dumping grass. It’s also cost-effective, allowing clients to save up to 40% on the cost of mowing with a catcher.

Apart from cost-effectiveness, we also like that they’re flexible with payment options. They accept various methods, including cash, cheques, and invoices. We see this as a great benefit for businesses and individuals who may not feel comfortable with digital payments. 

However, there were instances when they failed to do their job on time, leaving some clients disappointed. But weighing all the good work versus the bad ones, exceptional jobs still outweigh the others.
