My team and I found Aristotles North Shore Motel & Conference Centre super easy to get to. It’s just a 5-minute walk from the Sunnynook bus station and about a 20-minute trip to Auckland’s CBD. It’s a solid choice for both business folks and people visiting the city.

The rooms impressed us with their spaciousness and cleanliness. They also have Sky TV, free Wi-Fi, and secure parking—definitely features that tick all the right boxes.

One thing we liked was the pool. It’s perfect if you’re traveling with kids, so they can have some fun while you relax.

That said, we’ve heard some guests say the pool was too cold, so it might not be the best option if you’re hoping for a warm swim.

For business travelers, there are meeting and banquet spaces. Plus, they’ve got EV charging if you need it.

What truly elevates the experience, though, is the team behind the scenes. The owners and staff are friendly and always willing to help with special requests, leaving a lasting impression of great hospitality.

Pros

  • Accessible location
  • Clean and spacious room
  • Great facilities
  • Has a pool
  • Friendly service

Cons

  • A few reports of cool pool

Love the excellent staff who are so friendly and helpful

“Everything was perfect! Love the excellent staff who are so friendly and helpful. My room was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. So many amazing restaurants close by which have a pretty good reputation in the shore; got a discount since I was a guest at Aristotle Motel. There’s also a Hyots movie cinema just down the road, so make sure to rewind and have some fun while you’re at it Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable, and convenient stay!”

Auckland Central Motel is a decent option if you want a convenient place to stay in Auckland. Located in the Ellerslie-Greenlane area (about 3.1 miles from the city center), it’s a good base for exploring the area without being right in the busy city.

It’s close to places like the Auckland War Memorial Museum and Cornwall Park. It’s also easy to get around with a bus stop nearby and Greenlane train station just a short walk away.

While there are no restaurants at the motel, there are some good spots nearby, like Acacia Restaurant for a taste of New Zealand food.

The rooms are straightforward but cover the basics for a comfy stay. You’ll find free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a writing desk. Some rooms even have their own bathrooms and kitchen stuff.

That said, a few guests have pointed out issues with the bathrooms, such as non-working heated towel rails and a lack of hand soap.

On the bright side, the free on-site parking is a definite win, especially in a city where parking can be pricey.

Pros

  • Accessible location
  • Near various landmarks
  • Comfy rooms
  • Free parking
  • Nearby dining options

Cons

  • A few reports of faulty or incomplete amenities

We will definitely be staying here again!

“This motel was very clean and comfortable. I dread staying in motels because of how dirty they can be, but I was really impressed with how clean it was. It was easy to make the living area safe for my 8-month-old to crawl around. We will definitely be staying here again!”

Centrally located and affordable

“Great value. We’re moteliers and were visiting friends in Auckland: a last-minute booking. Pleasantly surprised with a warm, clean room that appears recently renovated. Double-glazed windows and underfloor heating in the bathroom! Centrally located and affordable. We’d definitely come back.”

The service at this motor lodge is second to none

“The service at this motor lodge is second to none. My email questions were answered promptly, they accommodated our requests and check-in/out was simple, with a smile!  They have a free airport shuttle which picked us up at 3 am after a delayed flight arrival. They can hold your car for you for an affordable daily rate as well! The proximity to the main road means you get some traffic noise but we played white noise sounds and weren’t bothered. Will use again when we’re needing a stopover close to Auckland airport.”

Our stay was greatly appreciated

“So thankful for BKs Best Western. We arrived on a delayed flight with 2 extremely tired children, our original plan was to drive 3 hours home. We were all knackered so thought we would try our luck to find some accommodation at 1.30 am. It was no doubt we had woken the person who took our call but he was super helpful and accommodating. The room was clean and tidy and quickly warmed in the early hours of the morning with a large heat pump. Our stay was greatly appreciated.”

Best Western Newmarket Inn & Suites is a quick 5 km from Auckland’s CBD and just a short walk from Newmarket’s shopping area, so there’s a lot to check out nearby.

When we visited, we were impressed that they offer a variety of rooms. They have studios, suites, and even apartments. Most come with cooking facilities, air conditioning, and tiled bathrooms.

The rooms also offer free WiFi, flat-screen TVs with cable, and built-in heat pumps.

The motel’s facilities are a nice fit for both families and business travelers. There’s an outdoor pool to relax in and a conference room with modern tech and catering services for work events. Plus, free parking is always a win if you’re driving.

However, we spoke to a guest who wasn’t too happy with the outdated decor. He pointed out his old bathroom and mentioned that things like low sinks made the place feel a bit less comfortable. He felt that the facilities didn’t quite match their price.

Pros

  • Accessible location
  • Room variety
  • Covers all basic amenities
  • Great facilities
  • Free parking

Cons

  • Outdated decor

100% would stay here again!

“100% would stay here again! Great price and quality! The lady at reception was so lovely and friendly, there was easy, on-site parking and great location which was very central. The rooms were very new and more modern, they were spotless, loved the smell of the pump soap instead of having bar soap, there was even a wireless charger on the desk lamp, I liked the bedside lights on the walls and handleless cabinetry. The small details really stood out for me!”
